With the recent adoption of updated standards for our field, we are looking forward to the 2022 NYSAFLT Annual Conference, Reflecting, Regrouping, Realigning with the World Language Standards, to be held October 21–22, 2022 at the Hyatt Regency and Riverside Convention Center in Rochester, NY.

As we continue the important work of implementing our new NYS Standards for World Languages, we will reflect on the past few chaotic years in education, regroup by centering proficiency, culture, and equity in our classrooms, and realign our curricula to ensure that we are providing the best educational experience possible for our language learners. As always, our vision is to bring together all those involved in the teaching and promotion of world languages, including researchers and educators at every level, across New York State.

The program will include three-hour pre-conference workshops for in-depth learning, as well as a wide variety of one-hour sessions over the course of the conference. We welcome all proposals – those with a connection to our theme, as well as those that address topics of general interest in the field. Please direct all questions to info@nysaflt.org. The 2022 conference will be on-site only and there will not be a virtual component.

Sessions are one hour in length and may or may not be specifically aligned to the conference theme. Up to four co-presenters may be listed, including the main presenter/contact. Registration fees for presenters of sessions are not waived and all presenters/co-presenters must register for the conference.
