Higher Education Information

One of NYSAFLT’s primary functions as a professional organization is to nurture, support and mentor teachers of languages other than English. We do this by means of our wpostsecondaryebsite, our Journal and above all, the professional development opportunities that we provide to our members. In light of the fact that the retention rate of new teachers is critically low, NYSAFLT must reach out to those coming into the profession now more than ever. And yet, one of our greatest challenges is establishing that critical connection which, hopefully, will be career-long.

NYSAFLT relies heavily on word of mouth and on the methodologists who teach and train new teachers to spread the message of what we have to offer them. In order to do this, it is critical that we have up-to-date contact information for these very important liaisons to the next generation of New York State LOTE teachers.

You can assist the NYSAFLT Higher Education Committee to update our records by identifying FL methodologists at institutions of higher education in your area. Please use the form below to send us the names of FL college methodologists and their institutions. All information submitted will go to the committee chair.
