Campaign to Reinstate Regents Exams
The NY Board of Regents and Commissioner Elia requested $950,000 for the reinstatement of the world language Regents exams in the 2019-20 New York State budget, but the request was not included or funded in the final budget. It is more important than ever that we make our voices heard.
As a world language teacher, we are urging you to show support of the New York State Education Department’s proposal for these assessments. Please contact your Regent, the politicians listed below, and the Senators and Assembly Members in your region. Call and write to their Albany and district offices. You may use the templates below or write your own. Also, ask teachers of other disciplines to call and write. Time is of the essence!
